Originally from Connecticut, I graduated from Hamden Hall Country Day in 2004. There I was introduced to and worked with a professor who guided me down the path of art and design. She sparked my interest in both the fine arts, multi-media design, and photography. From there I attended various summer art programs, including the University of the Arts in Philadelphia (2002) and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco (2003), where I developed my passion for advertising and art direction.
I started my formal education in design at Pratt Institute in September, 2004. A lover of all applied arts, it was difficult to choose just one medium. Luckily, I did not have to! Although my major was in art direction, I was given the opportunity to explore all forms of art at Pratt; I dabbled in everything from silk screening and book binding to digital animation and film making. I now pride myself on the range of my artistic talents and the diversity in the aesthetic of my work.
While at Pratt, I also had the opportunity to serve as an intern at a number of exciting companies, including Tiffany and Co., the advertising firms G2 Worldwide and Gotham Inc., and Surface Magazine. I am presently the Junior Art Director at SushiSamba, a chain of restaurants around the world that provides a fusion of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian cuisine and culture.
Focusing in communication design, the projects displayed in my portfolio range from book covers, package design, cds, and posters, to fully developed branding projects and executed books and zines.
